Martin Postashner was born in Montreal, Canada and currently resides in Burlington, Ontario. He began studying art at the age of 10 at L’Academie De Beaux Arts and then at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, headed at the time by Arthur Lismer of the group of Seven. His studies spanned both Fine Art and Commercial Art.
After graduation, Martin moved to the United States and enlisted in the the US Army. Upon completing service, he started a business as a traveling photographer and also worked as a sales representative in the art supply business. He has worked in the art industry for 45 years.
Martin’s work has been accepted and shown in many juried art shows, both in the United State and Canada, including the Canadian Society of Painters.
Martin works in watercolor, acrylic and other mediums. He enjoys exploring neighborhoods with his camera as the photographs he often takes become the subjects for his paintings.
Martin also enjoys the challenge of doing commission work upon request.
